Soap

It is a salt of fatty acid resulting from the action of a strong base (soda or potassium hydroxide) on a fat (triglycerides).

Soaps are more or less solid pastes. The glycerides used are a mixture of animal origin (tallow) or vegetable (olive, palm, palm-kernel oil...).
